LIMS Software Development
Sample tracking, test management and reporting that follow the way your lab runs.
Tell us about your lab's workflowWhat this is
A Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) follows a sample from collection to the delivered report and records every stage, operator and result along the way. Most off-the-shelf LIMS sold in India were designed for Western lab workflows and localised later. That's why so many labs buy one, find it doesn't fit, and quietly drift back to paper registers. We build LIMS around your lab's own process instead.
Who this is for
Diagnostics labs still tracking samples in paper registers and Excel
Labs preparing for ISO 15189 or NABL accreditation that need an audit trail which survives scrutiny
Multi-branch networks routing samples from collection centres to a central lab
Research facilities that have outgrown a spreadsheet for tracking samples and tests
What problem this solves
Nobody can see where a sample is
When status lives in someone's head or a paper register, chasing a delayed sample means three phone calls instead of one search.
Typing reports by hand is slow and error-prone
Copying results into a Word template delays delivery and invites transcription mistakes. One wrong decimal is all it takes.
The audit trail doesn't hold up
A register anyone can edit after the fact won't survive an internal audit, let alone an accreditation review.
The off-the-shelf LIMS never fit
Products built for another country's rules and operations often need expensive customisation, and even then they don't match how your lab runs.
What Nimbryx actually builds
Sample lifecycle & intake
A barcode at collection, then tracking through preparation, testing, verification and reporting.
Test management & job cards
Test panels, job cards and result entry organised around your lab's own test menu.
Digital reporting
PDF reports generated as soon as results are entered, laid out like the report format you already use.
Audit trails
Every change to a record logged permanently with who, what and when, built to support ISO 15189 documentation requirements.
Roles & permissions
Reception, technician, verifier and pathologist each see only what their job needs.
Equipment & calibration tracking
Instrument records and calibration schedules kept alongside the samples those instruments process.
Quality control & CAPA
QC runs and corrective/preventive action records, each linked to the relevant test or instrument.
Document management
SOPs, calibration certificates and policies stored with version control. Access is gated by role.
Analyser integration
HL7 or ASTM middleware that pulls results from your analysers straight into the patient or sample record. Nobody retypes anything.
Custom workflow support
Multi-branch routing, referral doctor tracking, and whatever step is peculiar to your lab.
How this typically works
Workflow mapping
We document how samples really move through your lab, including every handoff and exception, before proposing a system.
Scoped build
Intake, tracking and reporting come first. Analyser integration and multi-branch support are added where you need them.
Data & master setup
Test menus, rates and referring doctors set up before go-live, with historical data migrated if you need it.
Go-live & support
Staff training, documentation and a support window after launch.
When this isn’t the right call
If your lab is small and low-volume, and a well-kept spreadsheet with manual reports is genuinely keeping up, you don't need a full LIMS yet. Buy a low-cost tool. Custom LIMS makes sense once sample volume, compliance pressure or multiple branches make manual tracking unreliable. One more thing: we don't claim NABL or ISO certification on your behalf. The accrediting body grants accreditation to your lab, and no software can confer it.
Common questions
Will the LIMS support NABL accreditation?
By default we log every sample state change with operator and timestamp, which is designed to support ISO 15189 documentation requirements 5.8 and 5.9. NABL grants accreditation based on your lab's overall compliance, not the software alone. We'd suggest going through the specific checklist items together during scoping.
Can it connect to our lab analysers?
Yes, if the equipment supports an HL7 or ASTM interface, and most modern analysers do. We build the middleware that receives the results and attaches them to the right sample record.
How long does LIMS development take?
Typically 8–14 weeks for a focused diagnostics LIMS covering intake, tracking, reports and the audit log. Each analyser type you want integrated adds about 3–5 weeks.
What does custom LIMS cost?
A focused LIMS usually costs ₹3L–₹7L. Add analyser integration and multi-branch support and it moves toward ₹8L–₹15L. The full breakdown is on our LIMS cost guide.
